The brand is broadening its horizons by welcoming five more clubs into its prestigious fold.LA Galaxy, Sporting Kansas City, Portland Timbers, Los Angeles FC, and Inter Miami are the latest recipients of this esteemed accolade.
However, a question lingers in the air – why aren’t more teams being graced with their Third Shirt?
Rumors are swirling that MLS clubs need to hit a certain sales target (believed to be around 100,000 kits) to earn their bespoke kit designs.
The MLS has been catapulted into the global spotlight, arguably due to the arrival of Argentine Forward Lionel Messi at Inter Miami, under the guidance of former England striker, David Beckham.
This move has stirred up a whirlwind of interest, drawing in more fans and followers than ever before.
After all, it’s only natural for the world to be captivated when the player many consider to be the greatest footballer of all time joins the fray!
#1. LA Galaxy Third
Emerging from the archives, the Third Shirt of LA Galaxy is a tribute to the original jersey sported in the inaugural MLS season of 1996.
This daring design boldly incorporates a split of black and dark green (virdia), creating a half-and-half pattern. The split is bridged by a constellation of stars that embellish each half, with an additional five stars gracing the inner collar.
These five stars are a commemoration of their MLS cup triumphs in 2002, 2005, 2011, 2012, and 2014.
The shirt is further enhanced by red stripes cascading down the shoulders, harmonizing with a red v-neck, adi-logo, sleeves, and hem. It’s undeniable that LA Galaxy’s Third Shirt delivers a powerful statement.

This shirt pays homage to Clive Charles, a figure revered for his remarkable contributions to the Portland Timbers, both as a player and a coach. His achievements are impressive, with 13 conference titles, 20 NCAA tournament berths, and 7 NCAA Final Four appearances to his name, along with a plethora of other accolades.

The shirt sports a vintage brown colour scheme against an off-white base, creating a striking contrast. The design is further enhanced with brown/golden three stripes and a unique brown/brown-golden/mustard chest stripe.
